May 11, 2017 in ArtLInks News, Featured News, Professional development opportunities

The ArtLinks partners of the Arts Offices of Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford local authorities are pleased to announce a professional development opportunity for Visual Artists who are ArtLinks members. ‘Art Projects from Concept to Delivery’ is a workshop which will be delivered by Eamonn Maxwell, Curator and Cultural Consultant. Until December 2016, Eamonn was Director of Lismore Castle Arts. Since graduating from Camberwell College of Arts, he has been involved in over 60 exhibitions in the UK, Ireland and Europe, including curating the Irish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, 2011. As Curator at the University of the Arts, London he founded the Emerging Artists programme and is a passionate advocate of emerging artists. He has worked with many international artists and advised some of the leading collectors of contemporary art.

This workshop will cover all aspects of project delivery from research, to funding, to pitfalls which artists should avoid.
You must be a registered ArtLinks visual artist to apply. It is aimed at those who are considering initiating a project such as an exhibition, commission or competition. This is an interactive session where participants are invited to contribute to the session around their own projects.

The workshop will be held in the following locations:

June 7th 2017 - The Arts Office, 5 Dean Street, Kilkenny

June 8th 2017 - The Old Market House Arts Centre, Lower Main Street, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.

June 13th 2017 - The Arts Department, Council Offices, Carricklawn, Wexford.

All sessions start at 10am and the group workshop runs for 90 minutes approximately.

This will be followed by a limited number of 30 minute One to One sessions with artists. Artists who are interested in availing of these sessions can indicate this on the booking form. Places for the One to One sessions will be assigned in advance by lottery and are included in the fee. Successful artists will be notified accordingly. This workshop is subsidised by ArtLinks and the cost to members is a nominal €20 fee.

Booking forms are available from your local Arts Office only.
